I need help connecting and finding somthing..

Hello,
Im trying to connect me Nintendo Wii to the internet
and i can't because it says in the manual that either I'm not close enouth to the router
I should change the channel or somthing...

Thoes were the main two that I remembered.
Also, it seems that I have lost my password... ^_^;;
I don't know how to change it and can't find the installation cd...
(I am in a VERY deep mess with my dad if he finds out...O_O)
I mean it's probally here somwhere, but I'd like to connect to the internet as soon as possible.
*also it works fine on my laptop so it's very confusing for me for why it doesnt work Dx*
The Router is WRT54G2
