Problwm qith sound in my laptop

Hello,
Suddenly I started to have problems with the sound from my CD or DVD in my laptop. If I have something saved and played directly from the hard disk of the laptop the sound is great; however when I play anythng from the DVD drive the sound is off completely, there is lot of buzz and the sound is distorted.
Could anyone give an advice.

Try System Restore to the point just before this clue occured. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/support/sysrestore.mspx
