Because it works on safe mode..

It works right up to windows start up

Since you get a screen display in safe mode, I suspect that a process or service has been contaminated by a virus.
I will request that your thread be transferred to virus/security section of the forum where you will get help.
In the meantime, start in safe mode with networking and follow the instructions in the following link:

I Think that you're laptop isn't working because the RAM, Or you need to change the video chip, this things happens because of time, laptops are getting older. so remove the RAM from you're computer clean it and put it again. maybe this will solve you're problem. i this didn't work try to change the screen.
