Acer laptop not switching on

Hello,

The laptop does not switch on, I tried the power cable but none of the lights light-up.

I borrowed my neighbour's power supply and the laptop switched on however it said 80% battery power, charger plugged in but not charging.
As soon as I pulled the charger the laptop it goes dead.

What seems to be problem?

Can you run it with your charger and no battery installed? It could be time for a new battery.
