Hello,

My seagate 1 Tb hard disk is sowing the folder but I am not able to access them.
when trying to access the folder it shows error as:
"G:\Photos is not accessible
The file or directory is corrupted and Unreadable"

I tried doing G:\attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*
output:

G;\>attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*
Access denied - G:\$RECYCLE.BIN\S-1-5-21-2176504140-3805269354-1211177832-1001
Access denied - G:\$RECYCLE.BIN\S-1-5-21-3713060730-1333920642-4137858016-1001
Access denied - G:\$RECYCLE.BIN\S-1-5-21-642744852-1196344902-125473681-1001
Access denied - G:\found.000
Access denied - G:\System Volume Information

Also m getting error as below while the code was running:
"Attrib.exe-Corrupt File
The file or directory G:\Photos is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility."

Will chkdsk will delete the folder items.?
I need those photos and can't lost them...

Thank you
Hi there,

check disk will not delete your folders.

can you please run chkdsk G: /R
Thanks for the suggestion...

But still I am not sure about the data of the folder since when I opened the folder in the Ubuntu, it is showing me the blank folder. No data inside. Might be it got converted into super hidden mode.? Hope chkdsk can bring my photos back.

Lets see what happens once it's done.
Thanks Kieferschild.
Thanks a lot. It is resolved and All the photos are recovered.

If possible can you let me know the preventive steps so that it does not happen again.

Hello, glad to help. Ensure that your PC is up to date with Windows Updates. and that you do not power off your computer without correctly shutting it down first.
