Hello,
I've had my Toshiba Satellite A153-S4527 for around two years and this is the first time I've ever encountered this type of problem. Earlier today, my laptop just froze and shut itself off for no apparent reason. I tried to turn it back on and at first the fans would work but the display wouldn't. After some troubleshooting, I tried a power reset and tried to turn it on again. Nothing worked. It just seemed to make the problem worse because now the fans turn on for about 2 seconds then stop.
I need this laptop for all my school work and stuff. Help!!

I had the exact same problem with my Toshiba, spent over a year in troubleshooting the motherboard and finally found the solution. My fix has helped hundreds of others to repair their dead Toshibas and HPs. Check it here http://imateski.blogspot.com/2008/08/toshiba-satellite-m35x-motherboard.html It's basically a poor solder on the power regulation chip. The repair takes about an hour and voila, laptop's back to life.
