When adding files to my external hard drive they disappear

Hello,

When adding files into a folder on my external hard drive they will go to it and then disappear, when adding the same file it still gives me a prompt saying that one file already has that name. sometimes if I am fast enough I can see it appear and then disappear I have made sure they are not hidden files/folders
Any help would be awesome, thank you

It sounds like the drive folder is hidden. Go to the drive properties and set Hide Hidden files to NOT CHECKED!

OK, so have you enabled hidden files. there can be hidden files on a mac!
