Connection timed out/ system crashing. HELP!
Closed
Hello,
My ps3 says that it is connecting to the internet but fails the connection test. my laptop and phone both have internet access but my ps3 says that the connection has timed out. Why? Ive been using the same router the whole time I've had it (since December) and haven't had any problems. HELP! Also my system keeps crashing and I have to hold the button until it beeps twice and go through and reinstall everything. I've had to do that probably 3 times in the past 2 months.

It sounds like your console is getting worn out. This isn't something that is user repairable.
But, check to mkae certain your router is set for B/g band to broadcast, not just the N. PS3 Does not have an N adaptor, only G. So it is using the G band to connect, and when it (the PS3) never gets anything back [ACK](because the response is on the N band), it times out.
Make certain you are broadcasting on all bands!
