Hello, I have a LinkSys WRT54G router that attempts to assign the same IP address to one host connected to the Ethernet cable port and another host connecting using wireless. Apparently the firmware doesn't check the Ethernet IP assignments when allocating IP addresses by DHCP. Does anyone know a workaround? I have version 6.0 and have downloaded 6.1 firmware but don't want to risk reburning the firmware unless I know it will help; everything else works just fine.

try forcing the computers on the network to fixed IP addresses, it saves hassle in the long run. Simply find the host IP of the routers dhcp (usually something like 192.168.1.1) then work out how many PCs you have and lock each pc to 192.168.1.2 upwards sequentially. To do that open the properties on the Ethernet cards in each PC and manually set them.
