Reels not loading properly

When I open a reel on iPhone or iPad, the reel appears briefly, then another unrelated reel appears and runs. I've tried restarting the device, uninstalling/reinstalling the IG app, turning Wi-Fi on and off, using cellular, and some other potential solutions with no results. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix?

Hi,

It may be an issue related to the app. Is your device up to date as well? Have you tried watching reels from the Instagram website?

Yes I am up to date on IOS on the iPhone but not the iPad. And yes, it works fine on the IG web site on a PC.

If possible, try with a different account in the app to see if the issue persists.

Check if Instagram is sync with iCloud. Go to Settings > Your name > iCloud. In "Apps using iCloud" turn off sync for Instagram. Next, go to iCloud Backup and turn off backups for Instagram as well. 

If the issue persists, try resetting your iPhone settings - your data will be kept. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset All Settings.

If you still can't watch reels normally, try reporting it to Instagram by going to your profile > 3 horizontal bars > Help > Report a Problem. In the meantime, you can watch them from the Instagram website on your iPhone by requesting Desktop mode from the Share option in Safari.

I have experienced this and turned out to be a glitch on Instagram. Hope you come right with the suggestions from the above users :)

I really appreciate the feedback and suggestions. For some reason - maybe because there have been a couple updates to Instagram - the problem seems to be fixed now, after not working for 11 days, without me making any changes. Hopefully it doesn't reappear.
