Hi,

I got a new Dell Inspiron 14.
Config: Core i3 processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 320 GB HDD, Dedicated 512 MB graphics card.

Installed Windows 7 ultimate. Till few shut down and restart it was fine. Then after some time I restarted it, after the start up DELL logo a blank screen appeared with cursor blinking on the top left and nothing more.

Please help in fixing the issue.

Try to boot from the installation cd and make a repair or remove the battery and drain static electricity by pressing power and hold if for few seconds and reseat battery and start it.

thanks!! :)

I reinstalled with the CD. It worked and m able to boot the system. But While re-installing I observed that "format" and "delete" options for the were not enabled for my HDD partitions. I was only able to format the partition in which the OS was installed previously. I had some contents on the D & E drives. After complete re-installation, the contents did not get deleted.

Could this be due to corrupted OS CD? or any other reason?? Pls help.

Hello everyone

Today I found solution for the problem blank screen with a cursor on it which can move throughout the screen and makes no sense The main reason for this cause is because of the harmful virus which was attacked by either browsing or downloading virus infected programs

NOTE : it works only for windows 7 and alternate packages

Follow these steps I hope u may rectify this issue

1. First of all switch on the cpu button {or }power button in laptop

2. Press the key F2 which leads to the BIOS settings and move towards the setting SATA Drive option

3. U should change the option SATA DRIVE AHIC to any other which u have

4. Save the settings with F10 key and once u done

5. The windows will start and after the welcome text u will see ur desktop icons asusual

This works for me charmly and I hope will work for u also JUST TRY IT
