Internet connection

i just bought a new hard drive after the other one died. but b4 that it was working properly and i could connect to the internet. now this new hard drive i've just bought and i try to connect to the internet with it i keep getting the message that a network cable is unplugged when i'v actually plugged one..

i would be happy if you could let me know how i could fix this problem of connecting to the internet!...
