Hello,
I have a gateway laptop, drop it on floor now have nothing but black screen with lot of writing. Keeps asking for boot disk which I did not get any disk of any type when I bought it 2 yrs. ago. I can it f2 and it will bring up all kinds of directions which I have no idea what to highlight and if I am suppose to move to next page after my choice or what. I have Windows7.
My laptop is a gateway AMD Phenom ii x n830 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 15.6 screen 4GB Memory 500 GB HDD DVD-Super Multi DL drive which have no idea what it means. I need to know if there is any free help telling me what steps to take. Computer shops are high cost and a toll free number to gateway support would be great. Tk.U.

The bad news is you broke the hard disk when the laptop hit the floor. The good news is hard disks are easy to replace. I suggest you get a local repair shop to replace the hard drive and reinstall Windows.
Good Luck
