Hello, yesterday I was browsing the internet and then suddenly my laptop just froze. I tried to activate task manager, but it didn't react. I waited for a while and then I decided to turn it off by holding the power button for a while.

After that, I tried to turn the laptop on, but it won't work. The laptop goes on but the screen stays black for about twenty seconds and then I can hear the fan making some noise and then the laptop turns off again.

Things I have done:

- Taking the battery out and holding the power button for a minute and then putting the battery back in.
- Opened my laptop, cleaned all the dust inside.

Nothing has worked so far, and I can't find anybody online who had the same exact problem.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite c660.

Thank you in advance.

Hi

This is very steaky wicket.

Would you be willing to try to restore to factory settings and lose all of your data which is better than a dead machine?

That is a easy question. I would rather have an empty laptop returned to factory settings and no laptop.

I have tried it, but it doesn't affect anything. My laptop just keeps acting as I described in my first post. This is getting very annoying. Do you maybe know anything else I can try.
This worked for me thank you so much! My laptop wouldn't power on but I took the battery out and then plugged in charger held the start button for 60 seconds and it came back on. Jusy going to put through battery back in now

Looks like a harddisk failure! I suggest that you consult a technician for repair.

Sorry
