DxO PureRAW is a stunning RAW files solution developed by the french uprising company DxO. Praised by many critics and bloggers, it offers stunning results regarding cleaning and denoising RAW files before processing them in more general-purpose image editing solutions.

What is DxO PureRAW?

DxO PureRAW is a solution specifically designed to process your RAW files and apply demosaicing and denoising processes, resulting in better results before editing them in other pieces of software like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom Classic. Powered by deep learning technology, it is praised in the industry for its capability to deliver very clean and refined RAW files, which make all subsequent modifications more accurate. In addition, it bundles everything you can expect from this kind of solution, simplicity and efficiency. It is part of the very successful DxO tool suite, including DxO ViewPoint and DxO FilmPack.

What are the key features of DxO PureRAW?

  • Clean and fast: DxO PureRAW focuses mainly on correcting four optical aspects of images, including geometric distortion, chromatic aberrations, vignetting, and sharpness. As it uses deep learning technology trained on an incredible amount of pictures over the last 15 years, it offers very accurate and smooth results in no time as it is up to x4 faster than before.
  • Noise reduction: Reduces noise in RAW images to get sharper and clearer images.
  • Lens distortion correction: It automatically corrects lens distortion to get rid of imperfection and chromatic aberration.

  • New optical modules: DxO has added 8000 optical modules to its list with a number of new cameras and lenses, including several Leica M lenses. The program now supports over 70,000 lens and camera combinations.
  • Compatibility: It supports all types of RAW files imported from your camera or hard disk in various formats, including NEF, CR3, ARW, RAF, and DNG.
  • Multiple workflows: You can use DxO PureRAW in several ways, including using it as a standalone app and exporting your images for further work in apps like Adobe Photoshop, using it from within Adobe Lightroom Classic, or directly from your file explorer.
  • Updates: The latest update also integrates the Fuji X-H2, Nikon D100, and Sony FX30 approaches, as well as a minor bug-fix system.

How to use DxO PureRAW?

  1. Manually add your RAW images, or drag and drop them directly into the PureRAW interface.
  2. The program will detect the device from which you took the photo, so you will only need to confirm the optical module in the pop-up window.
  3. Click the button Process photos at the top, and specify the processing settings, the output format, and the output directory (e.g., convert them to DNG for later export to another editor).
