Downloading programs timing out!

Hello,
i have windows 7 on a compaq laptop, i recently reset the laptop to factory settings as it kept freezing and since that it has ran perfectly but the programs i used to have installed such as vuze, and iTunes that went wen i reset laptop cannot be re-downloaded as they start dowloading off the website and stop at the same place, ie itunes will dowload till 24% then nothing else will happen and dowload will time out! why is this?
