Hi Joanne,
Another Toshiba problem!
If you have taken out the cable, removed the battery and presses and held the power button for 58 seconds which would remove "flea power" with no results...
Try starting in safe mode by tapping F8 while starting.
If the above does not work, you have a huge problem which only a technician can look after.
Since your Toshiba is only 12 months old, do not delay complaining to Toshiba and don't take "The warranty is over" for an answer. A good laptop should last a minimum 5 years.
