Help with Acer laptop

Hello, I'm looking for someone to give me some help with my Acer Laptop...I can start it up, and the green lights blink, and the fan starts running, but it only runs for a few seconds then shuts down, and the green lights quit blinking...then nothing...the screen stays black, with just a light in the screen....I don't know what happened to it, just know that it didn't make any noises or anything like that, it was totally unexpected...so PLEASE, if there is anyone that can help me on this, or if you need anything further, information wise, I'll be happy to supply...I'd appreciate any help I can get on this...thanks, MsC
