Gamescom Asia 2023 - what, where and when?
The Asian version of the world's largest video game festival, gamescom Asia, will be back in Singapore from Thursday, 19 October, to Sunday, 22 October. All events and booths will take place at the Suntec Exhibition and Convention Center in Singapore.
Among the exhibitors are industry giants such as Xbox, AWS, PlayStation, Xsolla, Unlimit, Adobe, as well as independent studios, developers, and the national pavilions of Thailand, Singapore and Spain. You can find the full list of participants on the official exhibition website.
gamescom Asia 2023 will have a hybrid format and will offer visitors a physical B2C entertainment area for the first time. The exhibition will have dozens of events and will consist of three large segments. On October 19 and 20 there will be a B2B conference, available only for industry participants and professionals. The physical Entertainment Zone will be held on October 20, 21 and 22, and on October 21 and 22 special programs PRIMETIME and STUDIO will be streamed online.
What to expect at the gamescom asia Entertainment Zone this year?
The physical gamescom asia Entertainment Zone is open to anyone with tickets that can be purchased online here. This year it is expected to attract over 30,000 visitors and 150 exhibitors. Over the course of 2 days, 21 and 22 of October, at the Entertainment Zone, guests will be able to play games, watch cosplay and e-sports, watch performances from gaming stars and live shows. At the physical booths, visitors will be able to directly meet those who create and voice the games, as well as test the latest equipment and software and buy merchandising. There will be presentations of new games: for example, Capcom will present its new games Dragon's Dogma 2, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, as well as mobile releases of Resident Evil Village and Street Fighter for iPhone and iPad.
For the first time, there will be a separate Retro Gaming Zone, a Board Games Zone and an indie Wavemakers Zone, where visitors can try out the latest games from independent studios and demo versions. The Content Creator Summit event, featuring industry professionals, will take place on Friday, October 20th. The topics of the summit will be streaming, creating viral content on TikTok, and the role of cosplay in creating and transmitting content.
The central events of the conference will unfold on the Main Stage. These shows include a presentation of the original AAA game Skull and Bones from Ubisoft, as well as a performance by Gerard K. Marino, who created the music for God of War, League of Legends, Fortnite and other games. Steam will traditionally organize its festival as part of the conference, and in the "Meet&Greet" zone there will be meetings with cosplayers, content creators and actors of such popular games as Honkai: Star Rail, League of Legends, LOST ARK, World of Warcraft and many others.
gamescom asia 2023 online streaming shows
Two online shows - PRIMETIME and STUDIO - will be streamed online and available to everyone on October 21 and 22. These broadcasts will be in English, Indonesian and Thai languages.
PRIMETIME is a one-hour online show with world premieres, news and trailers that will give you a condensed introduction to all the important games and technologies presented at the exhibition.
We can expect that, like last year, the exhibition ends with a STUDIO broadcast, which will offer everyone who connects online the latest gaming content with extended gameplay and trailers, and e-sports and interviews with developers and actors.
