The latest film from director Martine Scorsese and financed by Netflix, The Irishman-a criminal thriller-has become an instant cult hit. Featuring Hollywood heavyweights Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, it’s perhaps no surprise that this film has become so popular, so fast with viewers. It’s about murderer Frank Sheered a.k.a. ‘The Irishman’, who kills corrupt union leader Jimmy Hoffa for the American Cosa Nostra.
Blade Runner 2049
Fans of Blade Runner and Ryan Gosling will be delighted that the latest addition to the saga is now available in 4K. In this sci-fi flick, replica-hunter Officer K is said to find the first and original Blade Runner, Rick Deckard (played by Harrison Ford), who had disappeared 30 years previously to save humanity from chaos.
Marriage Story
The US tragicomedy from Noah Baumbach tells the story of a married couple, played by Scarlett Johanson and Adam Driver, that have just come to terms with the fact that their marriage is over. The film begins where most other films end and it has been nominated for 6 Oscars this year. You can enjoy it in 4K resolution on Netflix.
The Two Popes
This film deals with the complicated relationship between Pope Benedict XVI and his successor Pope Francis. It’s set in 2012 as Benedict announces his surprise resignation. Prize-winning, Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles highlights the motives and opposites of these two heads of the Catholic Church in this fictional work.
The Highwaymen
The Highwaymen stars Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as detectives on the hunt for the infamous murdering couple, Bonny and Clyde. The two investigators track the couple’s bloody trail through several U.S. states before they set a trap and finally put an end to their murderous spree.

Cable Girls
The first Spanish original series from Netflix, Cable Girls features four women working in a modern Telecommunication center in Madrid in 1928. The period drama has impressed viewers worldwide and all four seasons are available in 4K on Netflix.
Daredevil
The series transports you into the world of Daredevil, made famous by Marvel Comics. The young hero Matt Murdock is a blind lawyer, who uses his other heightened senses to fight crime. This was the first collaboration between Netflix and Marvel, with Iron Fist and Jessica Jones following soon after. Daredevil is already available to watch in 4K on Netflix.
Stranger Things
This science-fiction mystery series is about the adventures of a group of teenagers who have been friends since childhood, trying to deal with paranormal events in their hometown. Thanks to the interesting, unusual plot and the incredible music score, Stranger Things has fast become one of Netflix’s most successful series ever and is of course featured in 4K.
Love, Death & Robots
This series is made up of 18 animated short films about Androids. Each short film is complete within itself and all 18 were produced by different international artists with different styles. The viewer can choose between four different playing orders and also a viewing resolution up to 4K.
Black Mirror
Again all five seasons of Black Mirror are available on Netflix in 4K resolution. The science fiction series from British writer Charlier Brooker is made up of individual stand-alone episodes that are all connected by the same theme: the dangers of misuse of modern technology and media.
