Looking for a bit of suspense on Netflix? Well, here's our list of recommended movies, including the newest additions to the catalog, as well as psychological thrillers that will leave you breathless.

The Strays (2023)

Between thriller and drama, bordering on horror film elements, "The Strays" is the new film written and directed by Nathaniel Martello-White for Netflix. It involves an original story centered on the image of Neve, a woman with a life full of privilege in a peaceful village in England. However, Neve's existence will be disturbed by the appearance of two strangers, who will upset the community's spirits and uncover some secrets and lies. "The Strays", inspired by a true story and tinged by the success of another film, "Let Me Out," which director Martello-White saw the same year he learned of the events that inspired the creation of the film, addresses the problem of racism, a sad reality that, even though time passes, is still with us.

The Weekend Away (2022)

"The Weekend Away" explores fear, distrust, and the idea of bewilderment in the midst of a deceptively harmless and beautiful scenario such as this country in the Balkan Peninsula. The story goes like this: Kate and Beth are two friends who decide to go on a weekend vacation in Croatia. After a night of partying, Beth wakes up disoriented and with memory lapses, and Kate is nowhere to be found. With her disappearance, an unexpected and dark secret is uncovered that will affect both protagonists. The good narrative rhythm of the film and its atmosphere of mystery will leave you breathless during the 89 minutes of footage as all the characters are suspicious and the plot twists are a constant in this film, in which nothing is what it seems.
