The Smart Hub on your Samsung Smart TV allows you to customize your settings. If, for some reason, you'd like to reset your Smart Hub settings to their default state, this article will help. We will show you two methods, one for older Smart TVs and one for 2022. We will also show you how to reset your Smart Hub PIN.

Why reset Smart Hub on your Samsung TV?

Resetting the Smart Hub can be useful for a number of reasons.

  • If you're having technical problems with the Smart Hub, like apps not launching properly, freezing, or crashing, a reset can help. Resetting the Smart Hub clears any temporary data or cache that may be causing the problem.
  • Sometimes, after a software update, certain apps or features may not work correctly. Resetting the Smart Hub can resolve any compatibility issues.
  • Restarting clears any customizations and settings you may have made to your apps, like rearranging the app icons or deleting default apps, and restores the default settings. This can be useful if you want to start fresh or if you're experiencing bugs around managing your apps.
  • A restart clears any network-related settings and allows you to set up the connection again from scratch, which can resolve any connectivity issues you might have been having.
  • Think of a reset as an opportunity to give your TV a fresh start! Resetting is just good maintenance for your TV. It helps ensure optimal performance, clears any temporary files or data that may accumulate over time, and restores the default settings.

Just don't forget that resetting the Smart Hub will remove all of your personal preferences, including login information or app settings, so you may need to set them up again after the reset. On the other hand, a Smart Hub reset doesn't affect other TV settings or erase any data stored on external devices connected to the TV.
