Google Classroom is an app that allows instructors and students to connect and implement online classes. Developed by Google LLC, this platform is available to anyone who has a Google account. The app has the advantage of facilitating communication and assignment distribution.

What is Google Classroom?

Google Classroom is a free blended learning platform developed by Google and designed for educational institutions. It aims to create and distribute assignments, share files between teachers and students, and features everything a class needs to focus on learning and knowledge.

What are the key features of Google Classroom?

  • Easy-to-use: One of the biggest advantages of the app is that it is very easy to use. To make sure everyone is connected, teachers and instructors can add everyone manually or create a code and share it with the students for a given class.
  • Communication: Google Classroom is easy to set up but it also enhances communication. Discussions can be started directly and users can share files and resources with each other for the class.
  • Organization: In addition to the above, Google Classroom makes it easier for instructors to structure their classes and the assignments. All the necessary docs, photos, and else can be centralized in one place - Google Drive - so students can access the material in no time and whenever they need to.
  • Save Time: Finally, because Google Classroom is a virtual classroom, documents aren't in a paper format, which makes it easier to stock them, as well as to go through them.

Is Google Classroom safe?

As always, we recommend reading the official Privacy policy before installing - because the app is developed by Google LLC, the same privacy policy as for all Google apps applies. This includes potentially students' data tracking and collecting, for example, from their YouTube accounts (if enabled). When it comes to safety, Google Classroom has a history of students cyberbullying other students.
