Turn off tweet translation on Twitter: on Android, iOS
If you follow users from around the globe who speak a different language, Twitter will automatically translate tweets written in foreign languages to yours. If you prefer to read the original text, this article will show you how to disable this feature.
How to turn off tweet translation on Twitter on iOS and Android
- Sign in to your Twitter account.
- Click on the small gear button > Settings.
- Go to the Account section.
- Scroll to the Content section and uncheck Tweet Translation > Show Tweet translation.
- Click on the Save Changes button.
How to translate profile bios on Twitter
If you are looking at the profile bio on Twitter written in a foreign language, you can now easily translate it. Tap Translate bio at the bottom of the profile's bio, and it will be translated into the language of your Twitter app.
How to change your content language preferences
- Click More and go to Settings and privacy.
- Click on the Accessibility, display, and languages tab.
- Go to Language.
- Choose Select additional languages or Languages you may know and select the language. Click Done to save the changes.
