Server settings: SMTP, IMAP, POP

POP3 and SMTP are transmission protocols to retrieve your email provider's inbox and outbox. This tutorial will introduce you to the addresses of mail servers for leader internet service providers.

Standard Ports

Standard ports for most SMTP / IMAP / POP3 servers include SMTP AUTH (Port 25 or 587), SMTP SSL (Port 465), SMTP StartTLS (Port 587), POP3 (Port 110), IMAP (Port 143), IMAP SSL (Port 993), and IMAP StartTLS (Port 143).

1&1

For 1&1 servers, addresses include pop.1and1.com (Port 25 or 587) for a POP server, smtp.1and1.com for an SMTP server, and imap.1and1.com for an IMAP server.

Adelphia Cable

For Adelphia Cable servers, you should use mail.adelphia.net all three types of server.

AOL

For AOL servers, you should use pop.aol.com for a POP server, smtp.aol.com for an SMTP server, and imap.aol.com for an IMAP server.

AT&T

For AT&T servers, you should use pop.att.yahoo.com (port 110) for a POP server, smtp.att.yahoo.com (port 465) for an SMTP server, and imap.att.yahoo.com (port 993) for an IMAP server.

AT&T Broadband Internet

For AT&T broadband internet, use mail.attbi.com for all three types of server.

AT&T WorldNet

For AT&T WorldNet servers, you should use postoffice.worldnet.att.net (port 995) for a POP server, mailhost.worldnet.att.net (port 465) for an SMTP server, and imap.aol.com (port 143) for an IMAP server.

Bell Atlantic

For Bell Altantic servers, you should use pop.bellatlantic.net for POP servers and gtei.bellatlantic.net for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

Bluelight

For Bluelight servers, use pop.mybluelight.com (port 995) for POP servers and smtp.mybluelight.com (port 465) for SMTP servers. There is no address currently available for IMAP servers.

BSNL

For BSNL servers, use mail.bsnl.in for POP servers and smtp.bsnl.in for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

BT Internet

For BT internet, use mail.btinternet.com (port 995) for POP servers, mail.btinternet.com (port 465) for SMTP servers, and imap.mail.yahoo.com (993) for IMAP servers.

Clara.net

For Clara.net, use pop.clara.net (port 995) for POP servers and smtp.clara.net (port 465) for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

Comcast.net

For Comcast.net, use mail.comcast.net (port 995) for POP servers, smtp.comcast.net (port 465) for SMTP servers, imap.comcast.net (port 993) for IMAP servers.

For Earthlink servers, use pop.earthlink.net for POP servers and smtpauth.earthlink.net (587) for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

Frontier

For Frontier servers, use pop3.frontier.com (port 995) for POP servers and smtp.frontier.com (port 465) for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

Gmail

For Gmail servers, you should use pop.gmail.com, smtp.gmail.com for SMTP servers, and imap.gmail.com for IMAP servers.

Hotmail

For Hotmail servers, use pop3.live.com (Port 995 with SSL) for POP servers and smtp.live.com (Port 25 with SSL) for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

iCloud

For iCloud servers, use mail.me.com (port 110) for POP servers, smtp.me.com (port 25) for SMTP servers, and mail.me.com (port 143) for IMAP servers.

Mail.com

For Mail.com servers, use pop.mail.com for POP servers, smtp.mail.com (port 465) for SMTP servers, and imap.mail.com (port 993) for IMAP servers.

Me.com

For Me.com servers, use mail.me.com (port 110) for POP servers, smtp.me.com (port 25) for SMTP servers, mail.me.com (port 143) for IMAP servers.

Mobile Me

For Mobile Me servers, use mail.me.com (port 110) for POP servers, smtp.me.com (port 25) for SMTP servers, mail.me.com (port 143) for IMAP servers.

O2

For O2 servers, you should use mail.o2.co.uk (port 995) for POP servers and smtp.o2.co.uk (port 465 with SSL) for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

Prodigy

For Prodigy servers, use pop.att.yahoo.com for POP servers, smtp.att.yahoo.com (port 465) for SMTP servers, and imap.mail.yahoo.com (993) for IMAP servers.

RCN.com

For RCN.com servers, use pop.rcn.com for POP servers and smtp.rcn.com (port 25, authentication required) for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

RoadRunner

For RoadRunner servers, use pop-server.rr.com for POP servers and smtp-server.rr.com for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

Sanchamet

For Sanchamet servers, use mail.bsnl.in for POP servers and smtp.bsnl.in for SMTP servers. There is no current address available for IMAP servers.

SBCGlobal.net

For SBCGlobal.net servers, use pop.att.yahoo.com for POP servers, smtp.att.yahoo.com (port 465) for SMTP servers, and imap.mail.yahoo.com (993) for IMAP servers.

Sky.com

For Sky.com servers, use pop.tools.sky.com (port 995) servers, smtp.tools.sky.com (port 465 with SSL) for SMTP servers, and imap.tools.sky.com (port 993) for IMAP servers.

South West Bell

For South West Bell servers, use pop.att.yahoo.com for POP servers, smtp.att.yahoo.com (port 465) for SMTP server, and imap.mail.yahoo.com (993) for IMAP servers.

For SuddenLink servers, you should use pop.suddenlink.net (port 110) for POP servers and smtp.suddenlink.net (port 25 with authentication) for SMTP servers. There is no current address available for IMAP servers.

Sympatico

For Sympatico servers, use pop1.sympatico.ca for POP servers and smtp1.sympatico.ca for SMTP servers. There is no current address available for IMAP servers.

N.B. Sympatico servers, run by Bell Canada, have since been put out of service.

Telus

For Telus servers, use pop.talktalk.net for POP servers, smtp.telus.net for SMTP servers, and imap.telus.net for IMAP servers.

TalkTalk

For TalkTalk servers, use mail.talktalk.net for POP servers, smtp.talktalk.net for SMTP servers, and imap.talktalk.net for IMAP servers.

Tiscali.co.uk

For Tiscali.co.uk servers, use pop.tiscali.co.uk for POP servers, smtp.tiscali.co.uk for SMTP servers, and imap.tiscali.co.uk for IMAP servers.

Windstream

For Windstream servers, use pop.windstream.net for POP servers and smtp.windstream.net (port 25 with authentication) for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.

Yahoo.co.uk

For Yahoo.co.uk servers, use pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk (port 995) for POP servers, smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk (port 465 with SSL) for SMTP servers, and imap.mail.yahoo.co.uk (port 993) for IMAP servers.

Yahoo.com

For Yahoo.com servers, use pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 995) for POP servers, smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 465 with SSL) for SMTP servers, and imap.mail.yahoo.com (port 993) for IMAP servers.

Verizon

For Verizon servers, use incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net for POP servers, outgoing.verizon.net or outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net (Port 587) for SMTP servers, and incoming.verizon.net for IMAP servers.

Virgin Media

For Virgin Media, use pop3.virginmedia.com for POP servers and smtp.virginmedia.com for SMTP servers. There is no address available for IMAP servers.
