Telegram for PC is the official Windows version of the famous Telegram cloud-based messaging service known all around the world for being straightforward, fast, and secure. You can send messages, photos, videos, GIFs, stickers, make calls and video calls, use bots, and create communication channels from your computer without using the web version anymore. Thanks to the desktop app, you can take advantage of most of the mobile app features, including sending files while enjoying the ease of typing on your PC keyboard. Telegram is appropriate for personal and professional usage.

Key features

  • Security and privacy: Private and group chats (in the cloud) are protected by the server-client encryption layer. You can also opt for an additional layer of security by enabling end-to-end encryption on secret chats. Secret chats are not part of the Telegram cloud and leave no trace on the servers.
  • Automatic synchronization: It is possible to seamlessly use Telegram on all your devices. Indeed, Telegram automatically synchronizes your sessions across your devices so that you will never lose any piece of information by switching to another device. However, keep in mind that secret chats are only available from the mobile app.
  • Sending large files: Telegram allows you to share files of any format (ZIP, MP3, DOC, PDF, etc.) up to 2 GB and access them from any device.
  • Unlimited storage: A great advantage of the cloud service is that you can save unlimited files, as long as their size does not exceed 2 GB.
  • Groups: You can create closed or public groups of up to 200.000 people and unlimited groups in Broadcast Groups. Quickly chat with your friends, family, and work team, or discuss in a larger community. If you need to, your posts or admins' ones can be named in the group's name so that your identity remains confidential. In addition, it is possible to control whether new participants have access to previous messages or not. Telegram lets you control your groups so that you can tune your user experience.
  • Broadcast groups: Whether public or private, this type of group allows you to broadcast messages to an unlimited number of subscribers. It is an excellent way to subscribe for information on various topics. Check our guide on how to find channels on Telegram
