The PlayStation Plus free games for April 2024 are Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends, Skul: The Hero Slayer. Grab them from April 2.
What PlayStation Plus Essential games are free in February 2024?
The service PlayStation Plus offers three subscription modalities (Essential, Extra and Premium) with which you can access free games and get many other benefits, from the most basic to the most complete plan. Purchasing a PlayStation Plus plan is necessary to play most games purchased on a disc or downloaded from the Store online. However, others do not require a prior subscription, such as Fornite, Apex Legends or Call of Duty.
PS Plus Essentials subscribers receive three new free games every month, and in April of 2024 these are:
- Immortals of Aveum | PS5
Immortals of Aveum is a 2023 game developed by Ascendant Studios and published by Electronic Arts. In this single-player first-person magic shooter, thieve Jak joins an elite order of battlemages to save the world. The plot of the game begins with Jack and his partner Luna return to their hideout in the city of Seren and find that their friend Caleb has been severely injured. During Jak and Luna's attempt to steal medicine, Sandrakk launches an attack on Lucium, the last of the Five Kingdoms of Aveum to resist invasion by the kingdom of Rasharn. Following Luna's death, the Grand Magnus of the Immortals, Kirkan, recruits Jak to defend Lucium. As Jack, you'll find, upgrade, and craft hundreds of pieces of magical equipment and perfect your playstyle using the three powers of magic. All this will allow you to make your hero the most powerful Triarch Mage in Aveum.
- Minecraft Legends | PS4, PS5
Minecraft Legends is a 2023 spin-off of the cult 2011 sandbox game Minecraft. In this action strategy game your mission is to defend the Overworld from an invasion of piglins, pig-like humanoid creatures from the Nether dimension. Together with other players you will have to collect resources to construct defenses, upgrade your bases, and summon troops. You can challenge your friends or team up in intense battles in online play for up to eight players, as you defend your village while leading your units to destroy your opponents' settlements. The game offers several modes, including the single-player story mode (called the Campaign) and co-op and competitive multiplayer PvP modes.
- Skul: The Hero Slayer | PS4, PS5
The 2D action platformer Skul: The Hero Slayer boasts rogue-like features, with an ever-changing map and a growing arsenal of abilities, each with its own unique attack range, speed and power. An attack on the Demon King's castle by a heroic band of adventurers has seen all but one of its denizens captured and imprisoned. Now, as a lowly skeleton Skul, you must save your demonic brethren. Equip two types at a time to fit your play style, and switch out during combat to find the best strategy to defeat your foes.
