Plot

In the kingdom of Hyrule, you will play Link, who is awakened by the fairy Navi from a nightmare where he witnesses a man in black armor pursuing a young girl on horseback. Navi brings Link to the Great Deku Tree, who is cursed and about to die. The Deku Tree tells Link a "wicked man of the desert" seeks to conquer the world. In a few words, Link must stop him. Before he dies, the tree gives Link the Spiritual Stone of the Forest and sends him to Hyrule Castle to speak with Hyrule's princess.

Gameplay

  • Explore: You have the opportunity to explore the vast kingdom of Hyrule, which has many different regions, atmospheres, and exotic environments to offer.
  • 3D environment: Ocarina of Time is the first title in the series to introduce a 3D environment in which you can fully interact with the different objects, lock enemies in combats, and talk to characters. Also, completing a side quest can make you obtain a horse called Epona, which allows you to travel Hyrule faster than before.
  • Time travel: This is the base game mechanic behind the title, in which you will travel backward and forward to change the events. Time travel is used in the main quest and various side quests and stories.
