Excel - Arrow keys stopped working

When working on Microsoft Excel your arrow keys may stop functioning, hindering the ease to scroll from one page to another. When this issue occurs, it becomes difficult to enter data in the Excel cells and worksheets. If that's the case, you can easily solve the problem whilst using Excel office software. Check if the scroll-lock key is pressed, if yes unlock it by it pressing again. It is a common occurence while using office software as it involves keying in numbers regularly. This may solve your problem; however, the keyboard arrow keys may also have caught dust and need cleaning up to function better.

I am using Excel 2000. I am trying to move from one cell to another by using the arrow keys on my keyboard but nothing happens. I was always able to move up, down, right or left using the arrow keys but this problem has just started out of the blue.

  • Check whether your SCROLL LOCK is ON.
  • Just turn it off by pressing on the Scroll Lock button key on your keyboard!
