How to block pop-ups and redirects in Opera

Opera Web Browser allows users to customize the pop-ups and redirect setting in order to avoid opening unnecessary and disturbing new windows. Here we give you step by step instructions on how to do it.

Built-in Opera tools to block pop-ups and redirects

Opera is one of the browsers that provide advanced features to protect the privacy and security of user data, including a built-in VPN service. Opera also blocks pop-up windows by default. However, you can manually control your pop-up and redirect protection for more protection. To do this, follow the following steps:

  • Open Opera, click on Menu and open the Settings clicking on the option Preferences:

  • Now open the section Privacy & Security:

  • Scroll down and click on Sites Settings and choose the section Pop-ups and Redirects:

  • Here you will find a switch with which you can prevent all sites from opening pop-up windows and redirects:

  • You can selectively set permissions for specific sites. Enter the URLs of sites that can open redirects and pop-up windows, and also enter the addresses of sites that you do not give such permission:
