Windows 7 - Windows Installer has stopped working

Since the last Windows update, I'm getting this error message "Windows Installer has stopped working"...

  • Click on Start > Run > type "regedit"
  • Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
  • Look for the "MachineThrottling" key and delete it.
  • Close the registry editor and restart your PC.
