Among Us, initially released in 2018, has become one of the most popular games of late due to its highly addictive nature. The premise of the game is simple, among a small group there is an impostor who must be discovered and expelled before they kill the other players one by one, and sabotage the ship. Do you want to find out more about Among Us? Read on and we will explain how to play Among Us.
Despite its fairly simple, two dimensional graphics, Among Us has become a hit sensation. Everyone agrees on how once you start playing, it's impossible not to spend hours hooked.
If you have ever played the party game “wink murder” (where you discretly kill other players by winking at them), or the Liar, you will see that Among Us does not differ all that much it its game dynamics. Among Us is about discovering the player who is cheating and sabotaging the rest of the crew and expelling them before they kill the others.
In this game, you are an astronaut about to be sent on a space mission, for which you must get your ship ready by performing various tests , in collaboration with your classmates. However, among you hides an impostor whose task is to kill you all without being discovered.
This is where your detective skills come in: you must pay attention to the behavior of the other players, collaborate with them and at the same time, not trust anyone, since the murderer could be anyone... including you. Do you want to know how to start a game? We tell you the rules of the game.
To begin, download the game here: it is totally free in the case of its mobile version and paid for PC (a symbolic contribution of 5 dollars) which you can download through Steam. You can also play for free from your PC using an Android emulator (see this article to find the best emulators.)
Once you download the game, you can choose if you want to play online or locally (for the PC version) and if you want a private game with your friends or play against strangers. If you decide on the latter, click on 'Online' and choose one of the available servers or games. The games have between 5 and 10 players.
At the beginning, choose your color and hat. Depending on the number of participants, there will be one or two imposters: you will know your role within a few seconds of the start of the game.
If you are an innocent crew member, your mission will be to complete tasks to prepare the ship and at the same time work to discover the assassin and expel them. Note that the imposter will sabotage the ship to create confusion and kill others more easily: coordinate with your teammates to solve problems that arise.
On the administration map and the surveillance cameras, you can see the movements of the rest of the crew: see where they are going and where they have been to detect suspicious actions. When you discover a corpse , you must meet to discuss and vote on the identity of the assassin and expel him. You can also call emergency meetings at any time if you think you know who the imposter may be.
If a vote does not make the decision to expel anyone, the game will continue; If you decide on someone, they will be ejected from the spaceship and the game will tell you if they were the impostor or an innocent.
If you're playing the role of assassin (which, let's not kid ourselves: it’s the most interesting), pretend that you are undertaking normal tasks, while you sabotage the facilities to cause mayhem and roam freely while others are busy undoing your mischief. Move around the ship's vents and shortcuts to get where you want.
Ambush your victims in one of the rooms and close the door to kill without witnesses: this way no one can be sure if you are responsible for the crime or you have simply found the body. And remember: blame other players for the murders so they don't find out that it is actually you, the murderer, but do it with subtlety. Your ability to lie and your act in cold blood are essential for survival.
