How to add a desktop shortcut to sleep Windows 7
In this article we will show you how to create a desktop shortcut to activate the standby mode of Windows 7.
To add a desktop shortcut to put your computer to sleep on Windows 7:

Right-click on a blank area of your desktop > New > Shortcut.
- In the Type the location of the item field, copy/paste the following:
rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0
- Click on Next and give a name to the shortcut.
- Double-click on the shortcut to give it a try!
