Activate volume control in the taskbar

This article presents ways of activating the volume control in the taskbar.
Sometimes the volume icon on the taskbar disappears, which can be inconvenient to the user. This document explains how to recover it following simple steps such as visiting the Control Panel, double clicking on the 'Sound and Audio Devices', selecting 'Volume' in the menu bar and ticking 'Place volume icon in taskbar'. It also provides an alternative to this by means of a link at the bottom of the article.
  • Go to Control Panel.
  • Double click on Sound and Audio Devices to open.
  • In the open window, select Volume in the menu bar.
  • Tick the box Place volume icon in the taskbar.
  • Finally, select Apply followed by OK
