Windows Installer has stopped working: Windows 7

If you see a “Windows Installer Has Stopped Working”, follow these steps to fix it:

• Click on the Start button and select Run, then type regedit. (You can also open the Run window by pressing Windows + R keys simultaneously).
• Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions.
• Look for the MachineThrottling key and delete it.
• Close the registry editor and restart your PC.
