Snapchat is an application that allows you to take photos and videos and to share them via the application. The unique thing about Snapchat is that the messages are automatically deleted once seen by recipients. You can also add text effects or fun filters to your creations before sharing. This article will show you how to do so.
Keeping Snapchat Up-to-Date
To access the effects on Snapchat, you should first confirm that you have the latest version of the application installed. Go
here to download the latest version for Android or

How To Add Effects to Your Snap
When you open the app, go directly to the camera feature:
Once the photo is taken, the application allows you to slide to the left to find new filters that will be applied directly to your photo. Continue to slide left to explore the filters, then select the one that you prefer:
You can also add intelligent filters in addition to those offered by the app. To access the settings, swipe to the right and click your
profile icon in the upper left corner. Then, go to the settings by clicking on the
gear icon in the top-right of the screen:
Select
Manage, then click
Filters to activate intelligent filters. These filters require you have
activated geolocation to display the time and other information. To apply them, go back to the camera screen and swipe to apply. Some of the available options include the temperature, the time, your current location, and more:

How To Add Masks to Your Snap
To add masks to your photos (otherwise known as the funny faces included in the app), head to the camera screen. From there, activate your front-facing camera, place your face in the frame, then tap and hold the area on the screen where your face is displayed.
At the bottom of the screen, a list of masks will appear from which you can select your favourite. When you are done with your creation, click the white, circular button at the bottom of the screen to send it to your friends.
Other Tools: Text or Pencil
You can also add text to your photo. To do so, after taking a photo, click the
T on the right side of the screen. A
pencil tool is also available on the right side under the text symbol. Click the
crayon icon on the right side of the screen. The sliding bar on the side allows you to select the size of the line, and the color options on the bottom of your screen allow you to choose its color.
You can, now, draw as you like on your photo using your finger. You can also click the reverse button in the upper left corner to remove any mistakes.
