How to create a story on Instagram on PC: with music and photos

Instagram stories are a quick and non permanent way of sharing content with your friends, family and followers. In this article we will look at how to create an Instagram story, how to add music, and how to create a story with photos.

How to create an Instagram story with videos and posts on PC

This is the method for creating an Instagram story with your mobile device or on your PC. If you want to use your PC, this will only work if you are a Mac user by entering the Develop Menu and setting your User Agent as an iPhone. Otherwise, you will need to use an emulator that can run Android apps on your PC.

Open Instagram, and tap the + in the top-left corner to launch the Stories camera, or for a shortcut, you can swipe right to open the camera.
Tap and release the shutter to take a photo, or tap and hold it to record video. You can also apply any of Instagram's filters directly to a story when taken with the camera within Instagram. You can also post a photo or video saved on your phone by clicking the square in the lower left corner and selecting the file you'd like to use (note you do not have all filters available to apply retroactively to this content).
Before posting (by tapping your profile pic with the + in the lower left corner ), you can customize the photo or video.
Use the Aa option in the top-right corner to add text and the pen icon to the left to add a drawing.
Save your new masterpiece by tapping the downward-facing arrow in the bottom-right corner:
After uploading, you can watch your own Story, and you'll even see which of your friends has viewed each post in your Story by swiping upward.
Tap on any of your friend's rainbow-outlined icons at the top of your screen to view their stories. If you think you can't see your friends' stories, find out if they are hiding them from you here.

How to create an Instagram story with music

If you want to add music to your basic Instagram story, all you have to do is swipe to the new Music option underneath the record button (if it doesn't appear here, you can search for it). Here you can look for a song, select the segment you want, and record a video in the background. You can show lyrics, the album cover, the dog's name, and other details if you wish. The Instagram music sticker is only available in certain countries, so you might be unable to add music. Also, currently adding a song before you capture a video is only available on Instagram for iPhone, and not yet available on Instagram for Android.
