Ray-Ban Stories: Smart glasses, price, release date

In 2021, Meta (formerly Facebook) launched a range of smart glasses created in collaboration with RayBan. Mark Zuckerberg's company has been looking into entering the business of augmented reality and these glasses are an integral part of their plans for the Metaverse. In this article we will tell you about Facebook's smart glasses: Ray-Ban Stories.

Features

Ray-Ban Stories can now record up to 60 seconds of video at a time, after previously being limited to 30 seconds. You can switch the maximum length of the video between 30 and 60 seconds.
There is the option of using voice commands to start filming if you want to use the glasses in their hands-free mode.
With the built in microphone and speakers you can use the glasses to make phone calls, send messages, listen to your message and use voice commands to control media. The speakers also notify you when your battery is running low, or when your storage is full and even the temperature of your glasses.
The Facebook View app that accompanies the glasses is available in multiple languages and will have more added as and when the glasses are released around the world.

Appearance

There are 3 different models of the Ray-Ban Stories available: Round, Wayfarer and Meteor. The integration of the cameras and speakers is not overly noticeable and Ray-Ban have been able to stick to their traditional aesthetic.

Release date

Ray-Ban Stories were first released in September 2021 in the US, and are available online and in some retail stores in Austria, Spain, Belgium Italy, Australia, Ireland, United Kingdom and France as of April 14th 2022.
