How to stop Chrome from blocking downloads

To protect your device against possible damage, Google Chrome's Safe Browsing technology automatically blocks malicious software downloads from unwanted or unsafe sites. However, if you are sure that the program you want to download is not a threat to your device, you can modify the browser settings to download it.

• On your computer, open Chrome.
• At the top right, click More (the three vertical dots) > Settings.
• Click Privacy and security on the left panel > Security on the main window.

• Click on No protection (not recommended).

• Download the program or file again.

Remember that it no longer protects you against dangerous websites, downloads, and extensions. You'll still get Safe Browsing protections, where available, in other Google services, like Gmail and Search.
