How to delete a WhatsApp account without a phone?
There is no way of deleting your WhatsApp account remotely from another device. You can however deactivate your account if your phone has been lost or stolen so that no one else can access it.
- You first need to lock your SIM card by calling your mobile provider. This will prevent anyone from verifying a WhatsApp account on your missing device. You will then need to use a new SIM card with the same number to activate WhatsApp on your new phone.
- Once you have done this you need to email support@whatsapp.com with "Lost/Stolen: Please deactivate my account" in the body of the mail, alongside your phone number (with the international dialing code). From here WhatsApp can deactivate the WhatsApp account associated with your old device.
When your account is deactivated, it is not completely deleted, if you chose not to activate the account after 30 days it will be completely deleted.
What happens after you delete your WhatsApp account?
- You won't be able to regain access to your account.
- It takes up to 90 days to delete all your WhatsApp information.
- WhatsApp informs users that it can retain some log data in its database after deleting an account, but claims that data will be disassociated from any identifying information and won't be linked to your account.
- The information shared with other Meta companies will also be deleted.
