WhatsApp is one of the most popular messenger platforms, available for most mobile OS (except Tizen).
WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform smartphone messenger that is available for iPhone, Android, Symbian, BlackBerry and Windows Phone systems - previously it was available for Tizen OS, however as of October 2020, it is no longer available (see below for more info). Easy instant messaging from anywhere in the world with an internet connection, between different phone systems is WhatsApp Messenger's claim to fame.
With an easy-to-use interface, users can also create group conversations with several contacts. If you are away or have no internet connection, the application records your offline messages so that you can read them later on. In addition, users are also able to send and receive multimedia files, including videos, images, and even voice notes.
Since the app operates like an SMS exchange and uses phone numbers integrated from the user's address book, there are no pins or usernames required. The application also allows users to block contacts, share their locations, keep track of e-mail histories, personalize notification sounds, and many other features.
Over the last decade, WhatsApp has become one of the best apps for contacting friends and family across the world. WhatsApps main appeal is that it allows you to contact anyone across the globe as long as they have access to the internet, for free.
Every day, there are more and more users of the app, some prefer it to calling someone with their phone contract, and call minutes (if they are not on an unlimited plan).
In addition, WhatsApp is now part of the Facebook group, along with Instagram, and it is only time before we see greater levels of integration across the 3 platforms.
Samsung mobiles use the Tizen OS, and the Tizen Store instead of the Google Play Store. As of October 2020, WhatsApp is no longer available on the Tizen Store because it is not supported on Tizen OS. Evidently, you can also no longer update WhatsApp in the Tizen Store. You must switch to another compatible device to use WhatsApp. Or alternatively, there is IMO, which is similar to WhatsApp.
