Instagram is a social network that allows users to take, edit, and share photos, videos and messages, usually from their mobile phone. Through custom snapshots with numerous filters to choose from, users can show their day-to-day lives. Instagram is also becoming more popular with businesses, and as a result, people are wanting to post more professional content from their computers. This page will help you use Instagram for PC and MacOS.

What Is Instagram for PC?

Instagram is not available as an application for Windows (except Windows 10), but thanks to an Android emulator called BlueStacks, it is possible to run Instagram on a PC and avail of all of Instagram's best bits, including filters, photo messaging, and stories.

Key Features

  • Upload photos: With Instagram for PC, you can upload high-quality photos to your Instagram account instead of the photos taken from your cell phone.
  • Filters: Use your favorite Instagram filters on PC to make your photos look swell.
  • Newsfeed: Enjoy your Instagram newsfeed on a big screen to lower the eyestrain and better see the pictures.
  • Cross platform: Instagram lets you always stay connected, whether you are using your PC or mobile phone.

How Does Instagram for PC Work?

You simply need to download the emulator by clicking on the green Download button above. Install and launch the program on your computer. Then select Instagram from the available applications and enjoy all the features of the social network on your computer screen.

How To Upload Photos From PC to Instagram on Mac

If you are a Mac user, there is a way of using Instagram on the PC, besides via the Instagram website which only allows you to browse, and not upload photos.

First, you need to enable Develop Menu on Safari. To do this, go into the Safari menu and choose Preferences. Select the Advanced tab and then check the box Show Develop menu in menu bar. Now when you go onto Safari you will see the Develop menu on the top of the page.

Now go to Instagram. Enter the develop menu, and select User Agent.

You will see the different types of devices you can simulate. In order to be able to upload photos, select iPhone. The page will look similar, except now there will be an upload button at the bottom.

You can now upload photos to your Instagram directly from your PC, allowing you to use higher quality images from your camera, if you have one, as opposed to photos from your phone.
