Reset Instagram password: without email, using Facebook

Have you forgotten your Instagram password and can no longer access your account? Don't worry, in this article we cover several different ways of recovering your Instagram account.

How to recover Instagram account?

In order to recover your Instagram account, you will need either your username and the email attached to it which you used to register for Instagram, or be able to receive a confirmation code to the phone number registered to your account. You also have the option to recover your password using the Facebook account connected to your Instagram account.

How to recover an Instagram password with username?

To recover your password, start by opening the Instagram app and tapping Forgot password?, for iOS users, or Get help signing in, for Android users. On the login screen, tap the Username tab, and enter your Instagram username or the email address that you used when signing up for your account. If you do not remember either of these, you will need to use another method. Once you have entered your information, tap Send Login Link:

You will receive a link to reset your password at the email address that you used to sign up for Instagram. Click this link in the email, and you will be taken to a page that will prompt you to enter a new password.

Choose a new code, and save your changes. The next time that you log into Instagram, be sure to use this new code.

How to recover an Instagram password without email via SMS?

If you are using Instagram for Android, you can choose to reset your password via SMS. Open the Instagram app, and on the login screen, tap Get help signing in below Login. Tap the Send an SMS option. You will receive an SMS at the phone number that you have registered with Instagram. Follow the instructions in the message to reset your password.

Note: This option is not available on Instagram for iPhone.

How to recover an Instagram account via Facebook?

Instagram gives you the option to log into your account using your Facebook credentials. On the login screen, tap either Get help signing in, if you use Android, or Forgot password?, for iOS users. At the bottom of the screen that pops up, select Log in with Facebook. (For iOS users, this option is also available on the first login screen.) When prompted to allow Instagram to connect you using your Facebook account, select Continue:

On Android

If you are having trouble resetting your password because you don't remember your email address, phone number, or Facebook account, Instagram can provide you with additional help. Tap Use Username or Email, then enter your username or your email address. Next, tap the right arrow in the top-right corner. Tap Need more help?, then follow the on-screen instructions.

On iOS

Open the Instagram app, then tap Forgot password? Towards the bottom of the page, tap Need more help? below Send Login Link, then follow the on-screen instructions:
