How to transfer WhatsApp between Android and iPhone?
If you are going to make a switch from Android to iPhone or vice versa you will not be able to make a direct recovery of your WhatsApp backup since Android saves by default its backups in Google Drive and iPhone in iCloud.
These two cloud storage services have a different writing system so it is not possible for a WhatsApp backup initially saved in iCloud to be read by Google Drive and vice versa. Therefore, in principle you can not recover your conversations.
However, if you also use Telegram for Android, you can still avoid losing your conversations and files from the chats you had on WhatsApp on your old phone and just export them one by one.
Go to the chat, click on the name of your contact on top, scroll down to the export chat option and once the content is loaded, select the Telegram option and then tap Saved Messages > Send. Here we explain in more detail how to do these exports step by step.
This will allow you to have a compressed file in Telegram with your old WhatsApp conversations and documents. It's not as convenient as the full WhatsApp transfer by backup but it saves you from losing all that information.
